After ringing in a new year, many of us are thinking about how to improve our lives and ourselves as we start a new decade. Another year may have passed but it doesn’t mean you have to look another year older. If your New Year’s resolution is to look younger, here are some tips.
You can knock years off your complexion and achieve your goal of turning back the clock. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Look younger in 2020
Shed a few pounds
Losing weight is perhaps the most commonly adopted New Year’s resolution. It is also, however, one of the hardest to stick to. If you’re struggling to keep to a gym regime and a restricted diet, think about the fact that losing weight is not only better for your health but also it can make you look younger. Once you start to see results, you may gain the motivation you need to reach your goal weight.
Moisturize and exfoliate
The texture and appearance of your skin can play a significant role in how young you appear. To stave off signs of aging, try getting into a regular skincare routine that involves moisturizing and exfoliating. Moisturizing will ensure that your skin does not dry out and remains supple as you age. Exfoliation, on the other hand, will slough away dead skin cells and help your skin to regenerate.
For the ultimate exfoliation experience, it may be worth investing in a chemical peel. This will peel away many layers of old and tired skin. You may also want to consider establishing a schedule for facials.
Invest in some anti-aging cosmetic treatments
Sometimes, particularly for those who have reached middle age, maintaining a strict skincare routine simply isn’t enough to roll back the years. This is where cosmetic treatments such as Botox and Juvederm come in. Both are great for smoothing out wrinkles. Juvederm can also fill out areas that have lost volume such as the lips.
For those with drooping or hooded eyelids, blepharoplasty may be a viable option. This procedure works to lift and brighten the eye area and reduce bags under your eyes.
